REFLECTION ON ART WORK:

When I think about art I think about what I can make that can be functional and fit my ideas.
I think about different faces I can take and distort or make adorable.
I use my art to show people that you can make something without being serious or lacking
ideas. That you don't always have to have meaning and can do what you want. Art is a way
to express yourself and whether or not people like what you do doesn't matter as long as
you are happy with yourself.
To create quality art you need to believe in yourself, and not worry about critics. Quality is a
standard set up by society and forced upon us at birth. Quality is really what the artist feels he
or she can do, unless they are asking somebody else their opinions.

REFLECTION ON ART WORK:

House. CLAY 'N' STUFF
For my house I wanted to make a wigwam and a cactus. Because I like cacti. and I like the terracotta clay.
When I made the greenware one, it exploded in the kiln, because I didn't wedge enough. I wasn't really upset,
it would have been ugly.
Hank Hill Face. CLAY 'N' STUFF
I made a face of hank hill that was cross eyed. When It was bisque ware it looked fine. But then I glazed it and
it turned out horrible. The glazes were too dark and made him extremely tan. I should have gone with my gut
about glazing it just two shades of green. I was planning on breaking it, but my boyfriend stole it away from
me and he keeps his switch blade combs in it.
Cereal Bowl. CLAY 'N' STUFF
I made a cereal bowl with an ugly old man face. I did this because I was frustrated with everything and myself
so I made something ugly. It didn't explode and I got to glaze it. So I glazed it an ugly moldy green and it
turned out wonderful. I like to keep my Q-tips for my make up in it. I made it by making a pinch pot and scoring
on ugly fuzzy eye brows and carving in the eyes and mouth.
ClapTrap. Cork board, dowell rods, beads, hot glue, crayon, cherry.
For my final wood piece I decided to make a robot from a vidya game I like to play a lot. It's called a claptrap.
I printed out pictures of different claptraps, and took measurements then cut out it's pieces from cork board.
It's going to be cute.
